Changes in Portable 1: Community of Learners!

Eldorado has just undergone a reorganization at many grade levels.  Our class will now become a 2/3 combined grade.  I know to many of you this arises concerns and questions.  Please let me assure you that I have taught both grades 2 and 3 for many years and have been teaching for 20 years.  I am not in the least bit concerned about this change to our classroom.
I strive to get to know my students and their learning needs very well and to meet each student where he/she begins their learning journey in my classroom and engage, empower and challenge each to make great strides and gains!  A grade label is just that....a label! Your child, and every child in each classroom is an individual learner who has different learning needs and strengths than every other child in the classroom.  A differentiated classroom is one where the community strives to challenge and meet the needs of each of us where we are!  Your child, you and I will work together to ensure that it is a successful year for all!

I look forward to seeing many of you again and meeting many of you for the first time at open house on Thursday night.  Please come by Portable 1 to introduce yourself and gain some valuable information about this year ahead.

There will be a slideshow presentation playing on the screen that will contain useful information for you to read while you have a look around our learning lounge/classroom and wait to have a moment to chat with me.

Hope to see you then!
